Coach Mel

My name is Melanie, my athletes call me ”Coach Mel”. I’ve been actively involved in CrossFit since January 2012. My coach at the time saw potential and encouraged me to get my L1. That September I met Chuck Carswell and Jenni Orr for the first time.
In 2013 I loaded up my car and headed to Miami to judge my first large competition – Wodapalooza! There I volunteered under Head Judge, Shae Tozzo. She also saw potential and encouraged me to volunteer as a judge at Regionals. In 2015 I headed to Carson, CA to judge my first CrossFit Games!
Since 2012 I have met some of the most amazing people! I’ve had incredible experiences as both athlete and judge. I’ve been the head coach and programmer for multiple gyms, and now I’m the proud owner of my own affiliate! I literally cannot describe how this community, as a whole, has changed my life!
Over the past 14 plus years I have seen how everything has had a purpose in how life has come together. And all I can say is that I am THANKFUL for my CrossFit community, near and far, and I can not wait to share my community with you!

Coach Jocelyn

My fitness journey began in 2009 in a small gym in Kuwait, where I coached small-group classes and cardio kickboxing. That experience sparked a passion for teaching movement, building confidence, and helping people realize what their bodies are capable of. From there, my coaching path expanded into training soccer athletes—continuing through two pregnancies—before I was finally able to join my athletes back on the field in 2015.
I’ve always believed that personal physical fitness and mental toughness go hand-in-hand—values that were instilled in me during my time in the U.S. Army. That mindset has carried into every sport and every athlete I’ve coached: strength isn’t only physical, it’s the ability to show up, push through challenges, and grow through effort.
In 2017, I laced up for a new challenge: roller derby. I spent seven years competing and coaching before hanging up my skates in 2024, bringing with me a deep appreciation for athletic grit, teamwork, and the importance of pushing past comfort zones.
I began coaching CrossFit in December 2023 and currently hold a CrossFit Level 2 Trainer Certificate. Whether it’s on the field, the track, or the gym floor, I’m passionate about empowering athletes of all levels to move well, train smart, and discover strength they didn’t know they had. My goal is to create a welcoming environment where every athlete feels capable, supported, and excited to get better every day.
