Our Community

Indian Rocks Beach is a special place. We are a small, friendly beach community where locals are known. If we mention “the bridge”, it doesn't matter which one, we are referencing the coming or leaving of our community. On weekends, locals rarely leave. It is our vibe, our culture, that makes our community uniquely special.
IRB CrossFit is also a special place; uniquely different from any CrossFit, or global gym that you may have walked into. We are a small, friendly community gym. We smile and welcome you by name. We are fun-loving, relaxed, and “beachy”, and whether you are a local or visiting, you feel at home.
Our program is simple. We teach everyday movements such as: sitting/standing, pushing/pulling, holding/moving. These movements improve our general physical skills: respiratory, endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, coordination, agility, ALSO improves your mindset, which in my opinion, is the most important thing.
Every day at IRB CrossFit is different. One day may be focused on a strength piece, like squats, or on a skill, such as pullups. Another day may have both squats and pullups in sets and reps that blur the distinction between “cardio” and strength training. Regardless, every day is focused on you!

Our community gym has a unique and special culture, and whether you live on this side of “the bridge” or not; whether you have visited once, or if IRB CrossFit is your home gym…

A Better Kind of Fitness
Indian Rocks Beach is located on a beautiful barrier island on the Gulf Coast of Florida, and we wanted IRB CrossFit to be a reflection of where we live — to coincide with our beach life.
We have workouts on the beach, right across the street: regular beach classes, open water swim workouts, paddle boarding, and Hooverball. Our goal is to be outdoors and as active as possible.
Move better, feel better, and overall just be better.

Meet Your Coach
Melanie — “Coach Mel” to her athletes — has been actively involved in CrossFit since 2012. She earned her L1, then went on to judge Wodapalooza, Regionals, and the 2015 CrossFit Games in Carson, CA.
With the opening of IRB CrossFit, she gets to share her love of community — with her community, and with you.
